We are seeking a National Sales Engineer for North America that will work closely with the North American Business Development Director to perform direct sales in specific states, expand the commercial sales of our regional distributors and provide technical / design support as required.
You will be responsible for building long term business relations with leading distributors, construction companies, architects, developers, builders and key decision makers. Your objective is to increase the use of our systems range via substantial business development, territory planning and execution.
You must be able to demonstrate an ability to obtain sales via consultative selling and network extensively in order to uncover opportunities ahead of the competition. Tertiary qualifications are an advantage, but not essential. Key to this role is the ability to think outside the square and take a strategic and planned approach to the sales process.
You will be expected, upon training, to deliver next-generation water resource management solutions and support the development of new markets and applications.
Primary Responsibilities: • Support North America Business Development Director to meet sales quota per state / region • Develop technical presentations that are customized to specific customer needs • Respond to and manage technical inquiries from customers with head office support as required. • Coordinate the resolution of field problems/issues with Director and customers • Insure high quality, accurate and timely responses to quotes received from customers • Insure quality post-sales activity is provided, including installation, product delivery and invoicing. • Develop and deliver sales / field training programs focused on engineering design support, sales technique, sales tools, CRM system use, design specification guidelines and value add packaging • Oversee customer forecasts, product logistics, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction. Actively target market share growth. Troubleshoot as necessary. • Obtain technical expertise for new products supported. • Responsible for quality reporting to Business Development Director, utilizing office CRM system • Work as a team player with minimal supervision • Willingness to travel extensively (50% plus)
Qualifications: • P Eng (discipline in geotechnical, water resource management / environmental engineering or civil is mandatory). • Strong technical background • Highly experienced in handling RFI, RFP and RFQ. • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills for both client and internal team interface • 5 to 7 years in sales and business relations development • Expert PC literacy that includes MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint. • Proficiency in CRM system is an advantage • Fluency in English is a must, fluency in Spanish is a definite asset.
