Chief Information Officer
Witt/Kieffer has been retained to identify and evaluate candidates for the position of Chief Information Officer for the University of Illinois at Chicago.

The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is seeking a dynamic IT leader for the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO). This is a unique opportunity to join a comprehensive, research institution that is part of University of Illinois. The CIO will report to the Executive CIO of University of Illinois and will have a key working relationship with the Provost of UIC. This position is the senior level IT role for UIC and will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of information technology. As such, the CIO will provide the strategic leadership in guiding the future direction for IT and will manage the technology budget, working in concert with leadership at UIC and University of Illinois.
Requirements:
A master’s degree is required. The ideal candidate will have ten or more years of experience in IT, preferably in a large research-oriented university. The CIO must be a solid leader with demonstrated experience in running a high performing IT organization. The CIO will possess a record of success in collaborative partnerships with faculty members and the larger university community, as well as demonstrated effectiveness in planning and leadership in the IT field. Knowledge and experience working within a shared governance model is key.
