THE ROLE DEFINED
The Marketplace Account Manager reports to the President & COO of Eved. The Marketplace Account Manager will be a savvy on-line customer service individual with strong technology aptitude, project management, and customer-facing experience.
A proven track record of successful project management or implementation of technology-driven training initiatives is required. The Marketplace Account Manager will possess strong communication skills and aptitude for technology. This individual will be dedicated to helping customers achieve their business goals using the Company’s online marketplace model and its components.
The role will require a service-oriented individual who recognizes that technology is changing business practices across entire sectors of the economy and can translate that understanding to helping customers adopt an online marketplace platform in the meeting and events space. It will also require an individual who can establish a results-oriented approach to solving customer needs and incorporating an appropriate level of process and prioritization. Building strong customer relationships will be key.
This person must have a proven record of being able to work collaboratively in a team environment, must be able to react quickly to change in direction and opportunity and will have preferably had experience in a start-up environment.
SCOPE AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountability for on-boarding all new marketplace customers from day of subscription sale through to growth in transaction volume
Develop and implement new account or service initiatives to new and existing marketplace customers
Manage clients and accounts assigned as well as building good rapport and relationships to ensure business growth
Drive the growth of marketplace transaction revenue for owned accounts and where relevant upgrading subscriptions
Update and provide all necessary accounts timely information relevant to their business to support business decisions
Analyzes the business challenges, practices, needs and requirements of clients to uncover needs and opportunities and propose ways to expand customer’s visibility, usage and resulting expanded transaction volume
Prepares and presents project solutions/proposals to clients, including performing product demonstrations
Works closely with different departments on new/existing accounts for smooth transition and workflow to ensure that marketplace deliverables are in line with clients’ requirements
Quickly develop an in-depth understanding of our client’s marketplace technology and be able to communicate its features, functionality, benefits and use to new and existing customers
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SETS PREFERRED
At least 5+ years of client service or project management experience in comparable technology platform or in industries transformed by software-as-a-service technology innovation
Experience implementing solutions for small and medium-sized businesses; prior work with hotels, meeting planning companies and other vendors in the event planning space a plus
Proven track record of managing processes and interfacing with customers
Experience managing technology on-boarding processes, setting appropriate goals and metrics and working to defined results metrics
Self-starter and action-oriented
Smart: dynamic, aggressive and strategic. Has the intellectual horsepower to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.
Decision Maker: analytical thinker who can make swift decisions, adapt to changes while staying the course and deliver results. Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels.
Disciplined: proven ability to measure success against defined criteria and objectives as well as proactively seeking our customer needs
Collaborative: ability to work closely with sales team, clients and technology associates to solve problems and identify solutions and improvements
