Job Description:
The Food/EVS Senior Specialist is responsible for leading Food Services (FS) and Environmental Services (EVS) savings initiatives at our clients. The person will function as the FS and EVS industry expert and will be leading other Huron Healthcare resources to leverage his/her knowledge and experience and make the most efficient use of the team’s time. The person will be working on both Non-Labor and Labor engagements to identify and implement savings opportunities. The person may also be used during our assessments to quantify food and EVS savings opportunities. The person will help grow the FS and EVS group at Huron Healthcare. The person will also help to innovate our offerings in these areas and offer new services to our clients.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Leading FS and EVS savings work for Non-Labor and Labor implementation projects, with overall responsibility to identify and implement savings initiatives and measure results. * Meeting savings goals within budget and engagement timeframe * Managing and leveraging other Huron Healthcare resources, such as Analysts and Associates, on engagements. Training, directing, and mentoring junior resources and providing knowledge transfer. * Participating in Non-Labor or Labor assessments to quantify savings opportunities for Food and EVS * Working with client executives to maintain the appropriate client support and momentum. * Discussing FS and EVS findings and recommendations with senior client personnel * Participating in practice management, including building an in-house FS and EVS knowledge repository with benchmarks, best practices, sample workbooks, tools, business cases, RFPs and contract templates, etc. * Providing thought leadership on new implementation approaches and service offerings for our clients * Providing sales support related to FS and EVS opportunities. Job Requirements:
Candidate Requirements:
• BS/BA degree preferred • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital food industry either as FS Director at a hospital or as employee of a food vendor serving the hospital industry (such as Sodexo, Aramark, etc) • Minimum of 3 years of experience with hospital environmental service/housekeeping, either as EVS Director at a hospital or as an employee of a vendor serving the hospital industry. • Knowledgeable about the FS and EVS industry trends, major vendors, best practices, and technologies • Experience supervising project teams and co-workers, and ability to coach and mentor staff • Ability to actively manage and deliver on client expectations around project activities, timelines, deliverables, outcomes, etc. • Ability to provide targeted communication, both verbal and written, to internal and external constituents. • Proven analytical and process redesign skills, including problem solving, quantitative reasoning, workflow process, etc. • Ability to work with a diverse group of professionals and personalities in a team environment. • Possess the following skill sets: o detailed oriented o solid written and documentation skills o excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and presentation skills o ability to work independently as well as in a team environment o desire to do meaningful work and make a difference •Advancedknowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Outlook.
Ability to make the following minimum travel commitment: Monday - Thursday on-site at client location/Friday home office - each/every week. As such, our consultants can live anywhere in the lower 48 states as long as they are near a major airport.
