Company Description:An Illinois (Western Suburban area of Chicago) manufacturer has an opening for a technical sales professional with a successful track record of working with OEM's and distribution partners in the application and sales of engineered power transmission and/or motion control products. The successful candidate will be required to live in the northeast and travel extensively within the territory, which may also include Eastern Canada.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Guide sales personnel in and personally promote and secure new major accounts.
Provide sales management expertise to manufacturer's reps, key accounts and distribution partners in the region.
Offer technical and training support to sales personnel and distribution partners.
Coordinate and assist in providing technical engineering staff services required to determine customer needs.
Provide sales assistance to OEM customers utilizing a manufacturer rep network.
Manage sales campaigns to achieve business growth goals in region.
Develop and regularly update sales forecasts for customers and channel partners in region.
Develop market analysis of assigned region. Review competitive issues, alternative channel partners and new product opportunities.
Successful candidates should have:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or prior power transmission and/or motion control application/sales experience.
Minimum of five years experience selling engineered industrial products to OEM's.
Proven track record in developing new customers, markets and contacts.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Some knowledge on fractional HP motors, gearmotors and reducers.
Fluent in French (not required, but desired)
