looking for an experienced Investment Banking Analyst to join its Cleantech Investment Banking Group in its Chicago area office.
Position Description
The analyst will work on a wide variety of transactions for clients in the Cleantech sector. Cleantech companies offer a diverse range of products, technologies, services and processes designed, among other things, to harness renewable energy and materials, eliminate emissions and waste and/or reduce the use of natural resources. These may include companies involved in the below sub-sectors, among others:
Renewable Power Generation
Energy Efficiency/Smart Grid/Demand Side Management
Advanced Transportation
Energy Storage
Bioproducts/Biofuels
Advanced Materials
Resource Optimization
The analyst will work on transactions including public and private offerings, mergers & acquisitions and corporate financial advisory assignments. Analysts work on multiple projects simultaneously, with primary responsibilities for the research and analysis related to transaction generation and execution. Specific responsibilities may include conducting industry research, building financial models to analyze company projections or potential transactions, drafting offering memorandums for public or private financings, drafting client presentation materials and working with clients to execute financing or merger transactions.
Required Skills
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
An undergraduate degree with a business-related major, preferably finance or accounting
Strong quantitative / analytical skills
Superior attention to detail and work ethic
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively manage multiple simultaneous project deadlines
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, M&A/financial modeling experience a plus
High self-sufficiency/ability to work in a fluid environment where senior bankers are often traveling away from the office
Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to work as key part of a close-knit team
Required Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in an analyst role with an investment bank
Experience in Cleantech, Technology or Industrials sectors is preferred
