Marketing Manager Baseball / Softball Division
Wilson Sporting Goods Co. is seeking a candidate to be the Marketing Manager in the Baseball/Softball Department leading in the development and implementation of marketing plans for products including Wilson Gloves, Demarini Bats and ATEC Training machines. This individual will report to the Senior Marketing Manager and is located in our corporate headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.
This candidate would lead in the development and execution of initiatives for both established and new products across the Baseball/Softball division and would drive the group’s volume and profitability objectives. These initiatives would include: creative development, media purchasing, packaging, website development, public relations, promotion creation/analysis, and market research coordination and analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage annual consumer media plans ensuring timely and cost effective execution of advertising plans and maximizing added value participation.
Develop and execute marketing plans, consumer promotions, and trade support programs.
Monitor and analyze branded and competitive activity, including distribution, brand share, promotional effectiveness, pricing, and category trends.
Manage the design, creation and logistics of point-of-sale materials across all channels of the trade and countries.
Develop an in-depth understanding of the baseball and softball industry including customer/channel environment, consumer insights, competitive analysis, and legal/regulatory changes.
Steward the equity of the brand and consistently communicate a compelling brand position.
Demonstrate discipline in providing creative direction that is in line with brand positioning.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA strongly preferred.
One to three years marketing experience in a consumer packaged goods environment.
Solid understanding of the following areas: advertising promotions, point-of-sale marketing and PR.
Excellent analytic and project management skills.
A passion for the sports that we and our consumers love.
Self-starter; strong dedicated work ethic.
Highly developed communication and presentation skills and ability to interact with all functional areas and levels of management.
