Baxter's BioScience division is a leading producer of both plasma-based and recombinant clotting factors for hemophilia, as well as biopharmaceuticals used to treat immune deficiencies, alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency and other blood-related disorders. Baxter also produces vaccines for the prevention of infectious diseases, as well as biosurgery products used for hemostasis and tissue-sealing in surgery. Baxter BioScience's breadth and depth of expertise in recombinant protein manufacturing, plasma fractionation and proprietary Vero-cell vaccine manufacturing technologies set it apart from other companies in these fields.
Baxter BioSurgery's product portfolio currently consists of hemostatic agents, tissue-sealants and orthobiologics. Our key customers are Cardiovascular, Orthopedic, Neuro, Spine, GYN, Urology and General Surgeons and well as other purchasing decision makers in the hospital environment. The role of the Marketing Manager, Portfolio Manager is responsible for:
Execute business and channel contracting strategies for BioSurgery business.
Effective cross functional communication of portfolio and contracting tactics.
Facilitate Peer to Peer portfolio initiatives and manage Residency and Professional Training initiatives including Blood Management/Conservation programs
Facilitate the following franchise programs: brand/portfolio planning cycle, annual meeting agenda and Field Sales Playbook, Sales, Marketing Advisory Committee agenda, etc
Work with Brand Teams on key initiatives including launches and other market related projects
Work with the Group Marketing Manager on the portfolio for the following items:
Evaluate the marketplace and working with brand managers, develop an effective market portfolio strategy and related messaging/positioning of Baxter BioSurgery and its portfolio of products
Evaluate the hospital channel segment and working with regional IDN lead, develop hospital channel strategy based on opportunity to acquire and grow business
Develop Baxter BioSurgery portfolio messaging, advertising and promotional materials and marketing programs which appeal to the target segments
Drive portfolio marketing initiatives to enhance the appeal of Baxter BioSurgery and the BioSurgery portfolio of products
Development GPO, IDN and related portfolio presentations and initiatives. Establish relationship and training initiatives for GPO consulting groups
Work with Business Development to identify and model BioSurgery opportunities
Job Requirements
Solid marketing and strategic planning abilities and business acumen. Track record of leading multi-stakeholder projects to successful completion. Solid ability to understand market trends, financial data, and customer needs and assess competitive intelligence data. Ability to develop and execute portfolio communication plans and messaging.
Bachelor's degree required (MBA or equivalent preferred) with a minimum of three years marketing or sales experience in the Medical Device or capital equipment industry. Strong results orientation and analytical skills. Excellent project management skills. Skills in market research, pricing and reimbursement, customer advocacy and KOL development, creative product/program development, messaging and branding. Willingness to travel. Excellent communications/presentation skills; solid financial analysis skills and passion for the conception, development and execution of marketing programs. Background in strategic planning and business development helpful as is knowledge of hospital selling environment.
