Description: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Support production in reducing / eliminating equipment and tooling downtime
Facilitate and help to maintain continuous improvement processes
Supervises and coordinates activities of assigned workers utilizing knowledge of processes involved, production methods and product.
Motivates and counsels employees consistent with Company policy and Union contract.
Assigns and schedules accordingly, the workers and machinery, ensuring availability of materials, parts, and supplies to meet production requirements.
Directs and monitors set up of equipment to ensure conformance to standards.
Recommends productivity, equipment, or process improvements.
Coordinates activities of the assembly department with other departments and shifts to ensure attainment of budgeted production plan.
Analyzes and resolves work problems or requests assistance from specific individuals and/or departments as needed.
Assists in training for department employees in work methods and company policies and work instructions.
Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformances relating to product, process and/or systems.
Implements and ensures compliance with applicable company programs relating to environmental, safety & health in the department.
Other duties as assigned by department manager and/or Plant Manager. Requirements: At least a two year degree in a business/engineering and/or manufacturing environment or related discipline and at least five years experience in a supervisory and/or leadership role in a manufacturing / assembly environment.
Engineering background a plus. Spanish speaking also a plus. Must be willing to work alternate shifts from time to time.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Possess excellent leadership abilities, organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of assembly processes, Lean manufacturing and production planning.
Skills in Window applications (Excel, Word, Project, Powerpoint, Lotus Notes, AS400 and SAP 4.6C.
Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form, to conduct training relating to EHS, company policies and quality, to solve complex problems with many variables, and to provide leadership and supervision to hourly associates.
