Job Description
This position is responsible for technically leading and managing the Toxicology function including Toxicology Operations, Materials Toxicology, and Regulatory Toxicology in support of projects from exploratory through clinical development and post-marketing follow-up.
Provide technical guidance and contributions to all functions. Specifically, review protocols, reports and interpret clinical pathology data, assist with study design, serve on project teams, interact proactively with FDA and other regulatory agencies as needed, provide assessment/review of product-related issues (75%).
Assess, design and implement processes to improve efficiency, information flow, and communication to include strategic thinking regarding the optimal balance between internal and external service partners (10%).
Coach/Mentor and develop staff to maximize TR capabilities and job satisfaction (15%).
Job Requirements
Toxicologic or Veterinary Pathologist or PhD with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience designing general toxicology studies and multi-year preclinical program plans for new product development. DABT a plus. Active role on industry association committees (PDA, PQRI, SOT) desirable.
Experience managing increasing numbers of scientists to include groups of 8-15 scientists. Expressed knowledge of ISO10993, ICH and EMA Guidelines as well as GLPs.
The ideal candidate will have a diverse breadth of toxicology experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to teach/mentor scientific methods. A clear understanding of the relationship between clinical pathology data and toxicity as well as excellent written, verbal and mathematical skills essential. This position requires demonstration of core team behaviors and the ability to be accountable and hold others accountable for results.
