Production Supervisor:
OPENINGS ON 2ND SHIFT
3RD SHIFT
REPORTS TO: Plant Superintendent
RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervise and coordinate activities of production areas.
1. Communicate with others:
Communicate with supervisor and other department leads to coordinate operations and activities within departments or between departments.
Communicate with supervisor and direct reports to resolve problems, complaints, or grievances.
2. Monitor processes, material and surroundings:
Maintain operations data, such as time and production records and prepare reports.
Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
Monitor work area and enforce safety, production and sanitation regulations.
Monitor product to ensure operators conform to standards.
3. Coordinate work and activities of others:
Direct and coordinate the activities of production employees.
Requisition materials, supplies, or repair services.
4. Getting information needed to do the job:
Read and analyze requisitions, work orders, schedules and specifications to determine production requirements.
Enter work orders and movement tickets in mainframe computer.
5. Guiding, directing and motivating direct reports:
Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality or efficiency.
Interpret specifications, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
Demonstrate equipment operations or work procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
Requirements:REQUIREMENTS: (Experience/Skills)
- High School Diploma and at least two years supervisory experience.
- Basic math skills (telling time, addition/subtraction/multiplication/division of whole numbers and fractions). Ability to convert measures into weights. Knowledge of linear measurement, percentages and ratios.
- Basic reading skills (read labels, formulas, directions/instructions, complete basic forms).
- Effective oral and written communication. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Basic computer skills (keyboarding, generating reports, etc.) from mainframe system.
- Interpersonal skills – ability to work with others, identify problems, and handle issues.
