Role and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, this junior level position is a critical member of the legal department and will have a variety of responsibilities on Navigant's legal team. The role will have primary responsibility for serving as legal counsel for the Disputes & Investigations and the Economics consulting practices on a global basis, both of which practices provide consulting services related to complex litigation, investigation and regulatory matters. This position may also serve as legal counsel to other practice areas or functional areas, as needed.

This role will be responsible for managing all legal needs of the assigned practices, with particular emphasis on reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts. The role will also include providing strategic and proactive legal advice generally, helping to structure practice-related transactions, providing relevant training to consulting personnel, addressing employment related issues, and assisting in acquisitions, joint ventures and dispositions from time to time. The opportunity includes client contact at the Officer and Senior leadership levels.

The position will be located in Chicago.

Role Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, experiences and attributes:


* 8+ years of current experience as a general corporate lawyer
* Experience in both a law firm and an in-house legal environment preferred
* At least 2 years experience litigating commercial disputes at the state and federal level desired
* Successful and relevant experience drafting and negotiating various types of business agreements and counseling clients on a variety of legal matters
* Experience with creating/advising on ethics and compliance programs and matters and/or drafting and negotiating technology-related agreements a plus
* Strong drafting and negotiating skills
* Proven ability to partner with internal business leaders
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal); the ability to collaborate, persuade, and influence all levels of management in a professional and positive manner
* Strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical and project management skills
* Versatility, flexibility and ability to manage multiple and changing priorities with tight deadlines
* Team player who can work independently and thrives in a fast-paced environment
* Strong integrity and business ethics
* Even keeled nature, with a sense of humor
* Experience in the professional services or consulting industry a plus
* JD required
