Job Summary
The Certified Sterile Processing Technician II must have a thorough knowledge of aseptic techniques and procedures, sterilization techniques and procedures, infection control and work flow prinicples and requirements, equipment and supply processing; demonstrates and exercises responsible judgement to provide necessary supplies and equipment for the patient care areas.
Job Qualifications
High School diploma / equivalent, Required National or International Certification for Sterile Processing and Distribution, within 18 months of employment, Preferred one year experience in Central Sterile Processing as a Sterile Processing Technician, Must have knowledge of hospital sterilization and decontamination equipment, supplies, surgical instrumentation, and medical terminology, Must be able to appropriately and effectively react to requests for emergency supplies and/or case carts, Must be a clear communicator both verbally and written, Must have basic computer skills, Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with adults and children for all ages.
